A 21-year-old man accused of murdering an Irish man whose naked body was found dumped in a skip appeared in court this morning.

Arry James Green, of no fixed abode, is accused of killing Michael Hunt, who was found naked in a skip at the far end of an alleyway off Station Road, South Norwood at about 7am on Saturday.

He has been remanded in custody following his appearance at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court via video link from Sutton Police Station this morning.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday for a bail hearing.

Dutiong the short hearing Mr Green, wearing a grey t-shirt, and looking calm with his hands in his lap, confirmed his name and his age and that he understood the charge of murder.

Mr Hunt was suffering from injuries to his head and body which officers believe were consistent with an assault.

The 37-year-old, of Holmesdale Road, South Norwood, was taken by ambulance to Kings College Hospital, where he died shortly before midday.

Mr Hunt is an Irish national from Waterford, Ireland.

A post-mortem examination started on Sunday at Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.

It has yet to conclude so no cause of death for Mr Hunt has yet been given.
