Five men will appear in court today to enter pleas as they stand accused of being involved with alleged match-fixing.
Former footballers Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun, both 22 and from the Croydon area, are accused of taking part in a conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
Also accused are 24-year-old former Crystal Palace player Moses Swaibu, alongside two men originall from Singapore: Chann Sankaran, 33, and Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan, 43.
Swaibu, a defender, previously played for Crystal Palace from 2005 to 2008.
The men are set to appear at Birmingham Crown Court today for a plea hearing.
Boateng, of Davidson Road, Croydon and Adelakun, of Mayfield Crescent, Thornton Heath, have been sacked by Conference South side Brighton-based Whitehawk FC since the allegations surfaced and are set to appear in the dock with fellow Conference South player Swaibu of Tooley Street in Bermondsey, London.
The three players and co-accused Ganeshan, of Hougang Avenue, Singapore, Sankaran, of Hawthorn Road, Hastings, East Sussex, are alleged to have conspired to influence the course of football matches in Manchester and elsewhere between November 1 and November 26, last year.
