A nurse who worked at a school for children with severe learning disabilities is accused of failing to correctly administer drugs to the pupils.

Greer Elizabeth Desiree Ramsammy-Westmaas was employed as a senior nurse at Rutherford School in Melville Avenue from 2008 to 2010.

And she is now set to face a hearing in front of the Nursing and Midwifery Council on April 10 to answer seven charges about failings during her time at the South Croydon school.

She is accused of failing to ensure a child was given paracetamol on at least three separate occasions in June 2010 and then saying it had been given to the child even though she knew it had not.

Other accusations include that she intercepted letters to and from a consultant and either amended them before they were sent or stopping them before they were sent.

She allegedly failed to ensure correct notes were being kept and did not spot errors on the medication records of four children between September 2009 and June 2010.

On one occasion she allegedly unstrapped a child’s standing frame and lowered him to the floor whilst he was vomiting.
