Two Crystal Palace stars helped launched a new football session for wheelchair users this week.
Paddy McCarthy and Joe Ledley attended the Waddon Leisure Centre on Wednesday to launch new football sessions for visually impaired young people and wheelchair users.
Power chair football is a four against four indoor game with two goals and played with a larger size 9 football. A representative from the Wheelchair FA was in attendance to advice participants about the game rules.
VI football is played with a brighter coloured football and ball bearings inside the football they are kicking so participants use their hearing to play the game.
Gary Mulcahey, Sports Development Director at the foundation, said: “The sessions have been a collaboration between the foundation, Croydon Sports Development, Surrey County Football Association and Fusion who have worked together to support the participants.”
