Blood spatters marked the pavement after a road rage incident in Thornton Heath earlier today.

Police were called to Whitehorse Road at about 11.50am after receiving reports of a fight between two men.

The pavement outside Maks Chinese Takeaway was cordoned off by officers while they investigated what happened.

An electrician working on a nearby house said he saw the aftermath of the incident.

The 27-year-old said: "I saw him talking to the police and he had blood all down his top and he had blood on his face and he just kept saying that they had hit his head.

"I did not know if it was a car traffic accident but then my colleague said that the next door neighbours said that he had been beaten up.

"He was pointing to his head.

"This area was cordoned off by the police and then the paramedics turned up."

The cordon has now been removed and the takeaway is open for business.

There have been no arrests.
