Five men have been jailed for more than 13 years at the Old Bailey after pleading guilty to their part in robbing a cash-in-transit guard in Croydon and an attempted robbery in East Ham.

Mark Buchanan (pictured below) and Nathan Clarke-Greyson swiped a cash box containing £12,000 from a security guard outside a Co-Op in Lower Addiscombe Road, Addiscombe, and got away in a car.

But the 21-year-old and 24-year-old were arrested later that day, on July 25 last year, when police stopped the vehicle and found them and the cash box inside.

On June 26 the previous year, after being spotted by cash-in-transit guards at a bank in East Ham and chased by police Myles Harris and Adrian Markland were arrested.

Clarke-Greyson and 23-year-old Nathan Rose-Bennett (pictured below) got away but a police dog unit traced items of clothing discarded by the pair and after DNA was recovered from the clothing they were both arrested.

Nathan Clarke-Greyson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob for his part in both offences.

Clarke-Greyson, of Longheath Gardens, Croydon, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for the attempted robbery.

And he was jailed for three years for the Co-Op robbery.

Mark Buchanan, of Wychwood Way, Gypsy Hill, also admitted his part in the Addiscombe robbery.

He was jailed for two-and-a-half years for conspiracy to rob and was also sentenced to eight months for dangerous driving, to run consecutively.

And he has been disqualified from driving for two years and must take an enhanced driving test before he gets his licence back.

Nathan Rose-Bennett, of Grange Park Road, Thornton Heath, has been jailed for 21 months.

Harris, aged 23, from Swanscombe, was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.

Twenty-one-year-old Markland (pictured below), from Brixton has been jailed for two years and three months.
