Park goers are invited to have their say about the future of a historic tree which was toppled in a wintry storm.
Work has begun to remove the cedar, which is estimated to be 300 years old, from Norbury Hall Park.
And people living nearby have contacted ward councillor Maggie Mansell saying they would still like it to be part of the park in some way.
A council spokesman said this might be possible.
He said: “The future use of the space left by the fallen cedar is, as yet, undecided.
“Any work would be subject to budgetary consideration, but the council would welcome suggestions from the park’s friends group and residents.”
