Five people have been charged with violent disorder following an alleged brawl in Kingston town centre.
They were expected to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The five were: Natalia Connelly, 34, of East Road, Kingston; Jerome Crooks, 23, of Norfolk Road, Thornton Heath; Craig Jones, 24, of Chelsea Close, Hampton Hill; Jason Mayo, 29, of Fielding Avenue, Twickenham; and Scott Mills-Jones, 26, also of Chelsea Close, Hampton Hill.
Each was charged with one count of violent disorder, said to have taken place on Tuesday afternoon near Barcadia and Headmasters in Wheatfield Way as shoppers looked on.
One witness has said an older lady tried to intervene and stop a fight between two men wielding sticks outside Little Italy restaurant at the end of Old London Road.
After the incident two people required medical treatment but were later released from hospital.
