Creatively capturing human rights issues on film has led to two Croydon teenagers being shortlisted for a national photography contest.
Croydon High School girls Sharada Kashyap, 15, and Annabel Plummer, 13, came up with very different images for the Amnesty International young human rights photographer of the year competition.
But both struck a chord with the judges and they will find out if they are the eventual winner on April 30.
Annabel’s entry (above) focused on the issue of child abuse and Sharada’s dealt with homelessness.
Sharada said: “I was surprised and a bit shocked as well as being really happy inside.
“Everyone was very supportive of me, cheering and applauding my success, creating a really good feeling.”
