Crystal Palace Beer festival one of the best ones yet

A sell out crowd of around 2,500 attended the festival which is in its fourth year and saw the likes of Neil Morrissey, Maxi Jazz of Faithless and Eagles’ legend Julian Speroni attend the event.

The Crystals were also at the festival handing out pint glasses to fans as they entered to celebrate in earnest Palace’s survival in the Premier League.

More than 150 beers were on offer as well as a host of live music acts to keep fans entertained.

Eagle’s co-chairman Steve Browett said the festival was the best one yet.

He said: “This was the best Crystal Palace Beer Festival yet and the biggest too, with 2500 people enjoying 180 different draught beers and ciders made by craft producers from all over the country.

“The Cronx beers from Croydon seemed to be the most popular and they sold out very quickly.

“It was the perfect end of season party and I hope that those who attended had as good a time as I did.”

Mark Russell, one of the Cronx brewers, said Magic Rock by He said: “We were really happy with how the day went. First and foremost we were really proud to have our beers there but also to organise all the other beer.

“It is fast becoming one of the biggest beer festivals in London and we are just really proud to be part of it.

“We are already looking forward to next year and ways in which we could improve the beer festival. It has got to a point where little things need tweaking to make it even better than it already is.

“In terms of our own beers the cookie stout seemed to go down really well with everyone. It was a experimental brew we did and we got great feedback which is fantastic.”
