The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for parts of Croydon after heavy rain overnight.
Forecasters predicted up to 10mm of sustained rainfall on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to swell river levels in the Ravensbourne catchment, which covers parts of Crystal Palace, Addiscombe and Shirley as well as Lewisham, Bromley and Greenwich.
The agency said it did not expect properties to be flooded.
It has not issued a warning over Caterham Bourne groundwater flooding, which affected Whyteleafe, Purley and Kenley earlier this year.
