A 50-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged attack in a Coulsdon bar.
Stephen Jelly appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court yesterday accused of trying to kill a 39-year-old in Mango bar, Brighton Road, on Sunday night.
The 39-year-old was treated in hospital for head injuries after the alleged attack at around 9.50pm but has since been discharged.
Mr Jelly, of Brighton Road, was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted murder on Tuesday.
Yesterday he was remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court at a later date.
