A wily fox proved to be a tough assignment when a tearful woman asked firefighters to chase him out of her bedroom.

The woman, believed to be about 35-years-old, ran from her home to Norbury fire station at about 12.30am today after seeing the animal under her bed.

Several members of the fire station's blue watch went across to her flat in Radnor House, London Road, to chase out the fox.

Instead of going straight out of the bedroom it ran into the wardrobe and it took the crew about 20 minutes to get the animal out of her home.

The firefighters were in the flat for about 20 minutes.

The fox is thought to have got in the home earlier that night while the woman was watering her plants outside.
