A hit-and-run driver responsible for a crash which left a pedestrian fighting for his life in hospital has admitted his crime.

Jerone Lindo, of Leafy Way, Croydon, pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He was charged on Sunday following the crash in Bisenden Road, Addiscombe, at 6.15pm last Wednesday.

The victim, 25, was treated for life-threatening injuries and is now in a stable condition.

Lindo failed to stop following the collision and was arrested on Saturday.

He has been remanded in custody to be sentenced at a date yet to be set.
