Five Croydon building projects are in the running for a series of top architectural awards.
They are part of 140 submissions across 15 categories for the New London Awards 2014.
Pegasus Academy Trust in Thornton Heath is shortlisted in the education category; Croydon Council’s headquarters Bernard Weatherill House is in the office buildings category and Wandle Park in Waddon for public spaces.
Westfield and Hammerson’s Whitgift Centre redevelopment plan has been nominated for the retail award, while East Croydon station footbridge is a contender for transport and infrastructure.
The winners will be announced by the awards organiser, London’s Centre for the Built Environment, on July 9.
