Binge drinkers in Croydon cost the emergency services more than £285,000 a year, making it one of the worst London boroughs for alcohol related callouts.
This is according to figures released to the Greater London Authority (GLA) Conservatives under the freedom of information act.
The statistics show, in the financial year 2012 to 2013, London Ambulance Service responded to 1,231 alcohol related incidents across the borough, more than three a day.
This makes Croydon the seventh worst borough in the capital.
To try and reduce the number of call outs across London, GLA Conservatives have issued a report entitled On the Wagon.
In it they call for sobering centres and booze buses, manned by nurses, to be introduced.
These would provide treatment such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks as well as a bed for the night instead of people being treated in Accident & Emergency departments in hospitals.
The group will also push for the fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly to be doubled to £180.
