A burglary suspect who showered police with roof tiles in a tense stand-off throughout yesterday, was eventually brought down and arrested.
The man, named locally as Joe Barnett, clambered up onto the roof to evade police at around 10.30am.
Officers arrived at the address in Barrow Road, Waddon, after reports of a burglary in progress.
When they spotted Barnett inside the house, he made a run for it and climbed up onto the roof.
Barnett, who was topless throughout the stand-off, chucked roof tiles and hurled abuse at police, as officers in climbing gear prepared to scale the house and bring him down.
He eventually climbed down at around 7pm and was arrested.
Barnett is now in custody and yet to be charged.
