Three men have been jailed for their part in a brawl that led to a town-centre nightclub being shut down.

Jetro Lopes, 20, Alex Domingo, 23, and Alfie Gillam, 23, were each sentenced to 10 months behind bars at Croydon Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting affray outside 12-20 - formerly known as Shooshh - in Crown Hill.

The violence came after a 26-year-old man was stabbed in club during a night headled by DJ Tim Westwood on April 21.

The club was stripped of its licence in May by Croydon Council's licensing sub-committee, who heard CCTV had caught a man walking into the club armed with a knife without being stopped by security staff.

Following the stabbing, in which the victim suffered a punctured lung, around 20 men - some armed with belts - became embroiled in a violent melee.

Lopes, of Lancing Road, Broad Green, was initially charged with intent to inflict grevious bodily harm intent, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon on April 21.

Domingo, of Smock Walk, Thornton Heath, Croydon was charged with assault, violent disorder and possession of cannabis on May 7.
