After a series of sell-out shows at both 2014 Brighton Fringe and the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, Five Rounds Rapid are back with a revised, updated and equally endearing version of A Complete History of the BBC (Abridged).

Like many a Brit, Terrance Plater has a soft spot for the BBC. But while most see it as suffice to show their support through the purchase of a TV licence, the old eccentric has dedicated his time to the creation of Cathode Ray Museum of Broadcasting, a shed chock-a-block with BBC memorabilia – that suspiciously looks a lot like junk.

Half lesson, half spectacle, we journey with Terrance (Bob Sinfield) and his equally enthusiastic wife Ingrid (Alix Cavanagh), from the birth of the Beeb to present day, learning as much about the odd couple’s relationship as we do the British Broadcasting Corporation.

A Complete History of the BBC (Abridged); the Spread Eagle Pub & Theatre, Katharine Street, Croydon; Tonight and tomorrow (September 19-20), 7.30pm; £10.
