A cannabis factory still in its infancy has been uncovered during a dawn raid.
Officers discovered 17 cannabis plants at a flat in Nelson Close, Broad Green yesterday morning.
No arrests were made at the scene, but enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.
Sergeant Steve Ribano, from the Broad Green Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "This cannabis factory was in the initial stages of being set up, so it is good that we have been able to disrupt it at such an early stage. We will continue to make enquiries to identify the individuals that have been involved in setting this up.
"I would encourage the residents of Broad Green to contact us or Crimestoppers if they have similar concerns about drugs in their neighbourhood as we can and will take action to target those involved in the production or supply of drugs."
The Broad Green SNT can be contacted by calling 020 8721 2712 or alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is an independent charity, on 0800 555 111, where you call will be completely anonymous.
