Instead of getting people to stop smoking, one singer-songwriter is focusing his efforts on making sure children do not want to start.

Mick Clark has written a song called You Don’t Look Cool after he received a pamphlet about the health dangers of smoking.

Instead of talking about the health risks he said the song puts the anti-smoking message into words children will care about and understand.

And he is travelling around Croydon with a You Don’t Look Cool banner to educate youngsters.

Mr Clark said: “We have got to get into schools, especially the last year of primary, and we have to speak their language.

“We have to get rid of the fact that smoking is considered cool and if you can remove that then you will get rid of it.”
