Around 90 firefighters from south London stations carried out fire and rescue training exercises at Sutton Hospital this afternoon.
Thirty-three dummies were placed around the former Chiltern Wing, which was then flooded with artificial smoke.
Teams from eight different stations went in and retrieved the dummies in stages.
On the right hand side of the building fire fighters practiced rescuing people from top floor windows.
Throughout the day two fire engines from Sutton, one from Wallington, two from Tooting, two from Twickenham, one from Woodside, one from Peckham, one from Lewisham, and two fire engines from Sidcup pulled into the site.
The exercises began at around 1.30pm, and finished shortly before 5pm.
