A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a brutal attack on train left a passenger with a fractured skull.
The man, of South Norwood, was arrested after British Transport Police released CCTV images in connection to the assault, in which the victim was knocked unconscious at East Croydon station.
The victim also suffered cuts and bruises when he was repeatedly punched at around 7am on Thursday, October 23 just after boarding a train.
His attacker then left the train with another man.
The arrested man has been bailed until December 18.
Detective Constable Rachel Smith, of British Transport Police, said: "I’d like to thank the media and members of the public for coming forward with information.
"It has proved invaluable in furthering this investigation."
