A burglar arrested after police raided an address and found him with stolen goods has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Delroy Dixon, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on Friday, November 15, after being found guilty of two counts of burglary.

The 40-year-old was also given an 18-month sentence, to be served concurrently, after pleading guilty to handling stolen goods.

He was arrested at an address in London Road, Croydon, on June 13 after police found items that had come from a burgled house at the property.

Dixon was then linked to a second burglary and charged with both offences.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Billy Clough said: "I am pleased with the result handed out by the court.

"Dixon is a prolific burglar and the residents of Croydon can be reassured that he is off our streets for a few years to come.

"We are committed to investigating all burglaries and bringing those responsible before the courts."
