Hundreds of families came into Wimbledon town centre yesterday to kick-off the festive season at a one-day Winter Wonderland.
Artificial snowflakes swept along the Broadway as the high street was transformed into a seasonal festival with live music performances, carousels, giant snowmen and an elf fire-eater.
Street foods from around the world were served including Caribbean rotis, Taiwan noodles and American burgers.
All the big Christmas characters were there, including Santa himself at Elys department store's Santa's Grotto and Disney princesses from the Frozen movie.
Organised by Wimbledon's business district Love Wimbledon, the festival ended with a firework display above Centre Court at 5.30pm.
The event follows Merton's official Christmas lights switch-on, which done by the Mayor of Merton in Mitcham on Thursday afternoon.
