In the run-up to Christmas, Croydon Guardian has teamed up with the police in calling for the public to help crack unsolved crimes and track down suspects wanted by the courts or due to be sent back to prison.

Over the next three weeks we will be publishing images of people Croydon police want to identify in connection with various crimes that have been committed in the borough.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Kent, who leads Croydon's wanted offender's unit said: "We're hoping the public get behind us with this campaign in the run-up to Christmas and some of the people we want to find or identify are wanted in connection with some very serious crimes.

"This week is all about people we want to try and identify.

"All the images are taken from CCTV footage and we need the public's help to tell us who these people are."

Amongst the images is one of a man who is wanted in connection with the theft of a poppy appeal collection tin from Danny’s fish and chip shop in Coulsdon Road, Coulsdon, last month (pictured above).

D Sgt Kent added: "I think the people of Croydon will be absolutely appalled that somebody has stolen a poppy appeal charity tin and we are sure that there is somebody out there who knows who this person is.

"I'd urge you to get in touch if you have any information on his identity or any of the other people featured."

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the seven people should contact police on 101, quoting the reference number shown with each image.
