Croydon’s X Factor star Ben Haenow will be performing a homecoming show tomorrow night to say thanks to his supporters before Saturday’s final.

The gig outside the Whitgift Centre comes as bookies say the final of the contest will be a battle between Fleur East and Haenow.

Pug fan Andrea Faustini is also still technically part of the competition, but he has been relegated to outsider by the two remaining singers in the over 25s category on the ITV programme.

Alex Haenow said his family are really proud of how his brother has got on and will be really proud to see him performing in Croydon tomorrow.

He said: "It’s not even possible to put it into words.

"It has been such a journey and as much as I hate to say it, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster of a ride.

"Anything that happens now is just the icing on the cake.

"It has been absolutely amazing in terms of the local community getting behind it and it has been overwhelming in terms of the support he has got."

The free gig in North End is due to start at 7pm tomorrow and set to last about an hour.
