Croydon Council has given assurances many services will continue to run throughout the festive season.

Round-the-clock help from the council’s social services emergency team will continue to be available.

The council’s control room will also be providing 24-hour surveillance of the council’s CCTV cameras, located across the borough.

Waste collection will not take place on bank holidays December 25, 26 and January 1. Similarly the council call centre will be closed on the bank holidays and January 2.

Leisure centres will be closed bank holidays, Christmas Eve and libraries will be closed on the bank holidays.

Collections due on Christmas Day will take place December 27, and on Boxing Day on December 28. Collections in January will take place the following day.

Christmas trees can be taken to one of the council’s designated recycling collection points with collections on Sundays January 4 and 11.
