Police today appealed for witnesses after a bus driver was attacked by a passenger in Waddon.

Detectives released CCTV stills in a bid to trace a man they want to speak to about the headbutting of a 46-year-old driver during his break at Colonnades Leisure Park, off Purley Way, on November 1.

It is thought a passenger had stumbled as the 119 bus moved off while he boarded.

He then got off the bus in Denning Avenue and boarded another from the same stop.

He got off at the leisure park and attacked the driver at about 3.35pm before fleeing.

The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to a cut to his forehead.

The passenger police want to speak to is white, aged between 40 and 50, wearing a flat cap and dark jacket.
