Families enjoyed arts and crafts, face-painting and a bouncy castle at a fundraising fun day at a charity threatened with closure.
Children also took part in penalty shoot-out at the Family Centre in Fieldway on Saturday, while sounds of soul singer Wendie Barker were music to their ears.
The centre, which provides services such as counselling, hot meals and play groups for families in need, will lose its £65,000 funding from Croydon Council in the summer and will be forced to shut if it cannot plug the gap.
The charity, founded in 1997, has also launched a crowd-funding campaign online.
Manager Julia Weller said: "We are trying to become more independent. We want different funding streams to become more sustainable and to be totally reliant on the council for support."
