A parking attendant was punched unconscious in an argument over a ticket in a car park.

He was hit several times before collapsing and momentarily losing consciousness at about 6pm on Monday.

The assault happened after a dispute between the Croydon Council enforcement officer and a man who was issued with a parking ticket.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who saw what happened to the 48-year-old in the car park in London Road, near West Croydon station.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and have both been bailed until a date in May pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Martin O'Neill said: "We have already made two arrests but this is still an active investigation and we are keen for more witnesses to come forward.

"That car park is in a very busy area so a number of people would have seen what happened."

Any witnesses should call Croydon CID on 101 or to remain anonymous call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting reference 3807741/15.
