Marie Curie Cancer Care chose the crucial south London derby between Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers to launch its Great Daffodil Appeal.
Club co-chairman Steve Browett invited members of the charity, including collector Nigel Hosking, daffodil girl Anastacia Symes and comedian Kevin Day on to the pitch at half-time on Saturday at Selhurst Park to publicise the cause.
Palace players signed Marie Curie T-shirts, which will be auctioned to raise funds for the charity at a later date, while collectors were out in force asking fans to dig deep before and after the match, won comfortably by the Eagles.
The Great Daffodil Appeal is the charity’s biggest fundraiser and encourages everyone to support those with a terminal illness by giving a donation and wearing a daffodil pin during March.
