A man has denied assaulting a 96-year-old pensioner on a tram.
Steven Gordan, 43, pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm at Croydon Magistrates' Court today.
Mr Gordan, of Academy Gardens, was charged after an alleged assault on a tram on December 14 last year.
The elderly victim, who walks with the aid of two walking sticks, was left blind in one eye after an altercation which took place on a tram travelling between Sandilands and East Croydon station.
Mr Gordan, who was wearing a white suit, was given unconditional bail and is due to appear before Croydon Crown Court on April 18.
