He confirmed he understood an updated list of charges and did not enter a plea during a short hearing.
Police were called to a flat in the Wan Chai district on November 1 of last year, where they found Jutting in a distressed state.
A naked woman, thought to have been aged about 29 was found in the living room with knife wounds to her neck and buttocks, and pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of Ms Ningsih, 23, was found in a suitcase on the balcony.
At the hearing on April 2, he did not enter a plea.
