Trains running through Crystal Palace are disrupted this morning after a man was hit by a train between West Norwood and Gipsy Hill earlier today.

British Transport Police were called after a man’s body was found on the tracks near West Norwood station just after 5am.

He was pronounced dead and officers are now working to establish his identity and inform his family.

It is not yet known how long the disruptions will last but National Rail said they are expected to continue until at least 10.30am.

National Rail advises passengers to use the journey planner for more information about services.

It says passengers may use Southeastern services between Beckenham Junction and London Victoria, London Overground services between Crystal Palace and London Bridge.

Alternatively they can use London Underground services on any reasonable route, London Buses on any reasonable route, Thameslink services on any reasonable route and London Midland between Milton Keynes Central, Watford Junction and London Euston.

London Overground and Thameslink services are not affected by the disruption.
