Croydon Council has appealed for help to find fly-tippers caught on camera dumping tonnes of waste in Upper Norwood.
A member of the public filmed two men emptying bags of rubbish at garages in Eagle Hill before driving off in a white hatchback van.
The council released the footage, shot at 10am on February 24, after enforcement officers failed to track down the culprits.
It asked anyone who recognised the men, wearing high-visibility vests and black woollens hats, or the van, the licence plate of which his clearly visible.
Jo Negrini, the council’s executive director for place, said: “I want to thank the resourceful resident who filmed this, and now that we’ve used the footage to gather evidence we need the public’s help in collaring these criminals.”
Anyone convicted of fly-tipping faces fines of up to £50,000, with the most serious offenders at risk of prison.
Seven people in Croydon were convicted of the offence during February and March.
Anyone with information on fly-tipping can contact the council on 020 8604 7000 or flytip@croydon.gov.uk
