A school archivist is set to explore the effects of the Great War on his college and the rest of Epsom.
Alan Scadding, archivist of Epsom College, has been invited to take part in a series of talks presented by the Epsom Literary Society.
The society says: "Alan is a teacher and the college archivist. He will talk about the foundation of Epsom College in 1855 and its history in the early 19th and 20th Centuries, setting the scene for the First World War.
"He will then relate the school's own experience of the war and Old Epsomian experiences including something on Epsom's military invasion by young men and early air raids, war experiences and its effects.
"Much of the material for this will come from our ongoing investigation of 'Those Who Served' - the 948 Old Epsomians known to have joined up, of whom 155 died."
