Parliamentary candidates in Merton have taken to the streets in a last-minute bid to sway voters before polling stations close.

Red for victory? Labour candidate for Mitcham and Morden Siobhain McDonagh has been parading the streets of Mitcham in a car adorned with red and yellow ribbons.

Meanwhile over in Wimbledon, Conservative candidate Stephen Hammond has tweeted photos of himself doing an eleventh-hour circuit of the West Barnes, Cannon Hill and Raynes Park wards supported by his daughter Ali Hammond.

Wimbledon Liberal Democrat candidate Shas Sheehan took to Twitter earlier today to thank her supporters and wish fellow Lib Dem candidates good luck.

UKIP candidate for Mitcham and Morden Richard Hilton also tweeted from the streets of St Helier this morning, after a night of telephone canvassing in South Thanet to support his party leader Nigel Farage.

We will be reporting on the action from the counts this evening. So stay with us throughout the day and into the night as the excitement mounts.
