People in Kenley whose homes are at risk from surface water flooding are being asked to help with a study to tackle the issue.
Croydon Council has written to residents in several Kenley streets asking for detail about water levels, drains and culverts on their property to help with council contractors Metis Consulting’s research.
The letter included a link to an online survey for householders to give their feedback.
Once the report is completed, Metis will come up with a shortlist of the most effective solutions.
The council will invite people to give their views on the shortlist before deciding which option it will ask the Government to fund.
Information from the study will also be used to draw up a borough-wide flood prevention policy that will be consulted on this summer.
The roads covered in the Kenley research project stretch from part of Hayes Lane next to Betts Mead down the hill to the station.
They include Uplands Road, Valley Road, Welcomes Road, Kenley Lane, Abbots Lane, Hermitage Road, Church Road.
