As a local resident, I parked in Purley on a deserted week day and found I had no change for the meter. I walked 20 yards to the bakers to get some change.
By the time I walked back - maybe three minutes - an attendant was printing a parking ticket. What price the council's support for local shops? And what price fairness? I am left with a deep sense of injustice and for what? An £80 fine for three minutes parking. This is wrong and the council's policy stinks.
