Croydon's first rooftop cinema is to launch this week.
The Lost Format Society, on the top floor of Dingwall Road car park near East Croydon, will screen cult classic films four nights a week throughout August.
It will open with a screening of Will Ferrell comedy Anchorman this Thursday, with viewers kitted out with wirless headphones, blankets and - weather depending - ponchos.
The 150-seat cinema is the brainchild of the Croydon Creative, founded by three local men - Farouk Deen, Justin Owens and Mark Sarfo.
Mr Deen said: "We were brought up here and understand Croydon’s heritage.
"We have been lucky enough to work with the local council in order to build this project and we’re excited to see progress already being made in the area with the BoxPark and Westfield heading our way.
"The Lost Format Society is our way of contributing to the regeneration, to revitalise the area and strengthen the community.”
Top Gun, the Big Lebowski and Birdman are also among the films, priced at £14 a ticket, scheduled to be screened at the cinema, which will have a bar and food stalls.
The rooftop will be open from 1pm on weekends to host activities including yoga and mini-golf.
