The wait is over for Croydon students as A-level results are revealed today.

Passes have increased slightly across the country, although A* and A grades are down on last year. 

But how did Croydon do? We'll be updating this story throughout the morning with the latest results.

Coloma Convent Girls’ School 

Pass rate: 100 per cent

A*-A: 29 per cent

A*-B: 62 per cent

A*-C: 87 per cent

Emily Findlay, Charlotte Hernandez, Esther Ivens, Rosa Lanzalaco, Rebecca Miller, and Isabel Vickers all achieved two or more A* grades. 

All of the school's Oxbridge candidates - Niamh Buckingham, Esther Ivens and Leah Morris - were successful.

Coloma Convent students celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate

Maureen Martin, headteacher, said: "We congratulate all the girls on so many fantastic results, which are a credit to their hard work, the commitment and enthusiasm of our staff, governors and trustees, and the support of their families and friends.

"Particularly pleasing have been the excellent results from those girls who joined us in the sixth form alongside those from Coloma’s Year 11 who had been offered places to remain in the sixth form for A-levels.  Every single student has had the opportunity to excel and nearly all have done so."

Coulsdon College

Pass rate: 99 per cent

Success stories include includes Tolga Bilge, who received A* and two As and will now study Theoretical Physics at St Andrews University.

Brett Freeman, principal, said: "The students' excellent results shows that those who join us enjoy their time and work hard to ensure they reach their full potential. 

"I want to wish all our graduating students well and I’m especially pleased at the growing numbers heading off to excellent universities and higher apprenticeships.

"This has been an outstanding year for Coulsdon College and we can now look forward to even better results next year as our first year students gained the best result ever and this should mean even more of them leaving with top grades next year."

Croydon High School

Pass rate: 99 per cent

A*-B: 70 per cent

Debbie Leonard, headteacher, said: "I have no doubt that as well as the usual crop of medics, lawyers, scientists and linguists, we have girls who will go on and achieve great things in many different walks of life.

"I hope and believe that the excellent all-round education they have enjoyed here at Croydon High will help them all realise their dreams."

Pass rate: 94 per cent

A*-C: 93 per cent

A*-B: 89 per cent

A*-C: 75 per cent

Headteacher Amanda Compton said: "Despite concerns raised nationally that the percentage of top grades awarded may fall this year, NMBEC students have worked hard to achieve their personal best, encouraged and supported by the staff and as a result the increase in top grades awarded to our students is even more rewarding."

Norbury Manor headteacher Amanda Compton and Year 13 student Briana Aimable-Lina, who achieved A grades in every subject and will now study at Biology at Imperial College London.

Oasis Academy Shirley Park 

Pass rate: 95 per cent

A*-B: 58 per cent

Executive principal Louise Lee said: "This is a fantastic set of results and reflects the dedication and commitment shown by the students in wanting to secure positions at some of the top universities in the country. 

"Their hard work has been matched by the staff at the Academy, who have supported their learning, pastoral care and UCAS applications."

Quest Academy

Pass rate: 100 per cent

A*-C: 73 per cent

A*-B: 33 per cent

Andy Crofts, principal of the Quest Academy said: "Quest’s sixth-formers have done us all proud and have proved that the quality of education at Quest is going from strength to strength.

"Our new state-of-the-art £16.5 million academy building, with fabulous sixth form provision has no doubt supported the excellent teaching at Quest."

St Andrew's Church of England High School

Pass: 91 per cent

A*-C: 50 per cent

A*-A = two per cent

Kerry Targett, acting headteacher, said: "These are our first set of A2  results with the sixth form only opening 2 years ago. We are pleased that our A2 students have managed to get into their first choice universities to study a wide range of subjects from economics, history, music and English."

St Mary's Catholic High School

A*-C: 62 per cent

Headteacher Patrick Shields said:  "These results reflect our continued progress towards outstanding and reinforce the rapid progress we have made recently as identified by OFSTED. 

"My congratulations go to students, families and staff on another impressive set of results."

Trinity School

Pass rate: 100 per cent

A*-A: 60 per cent

Students Alex Briggs, Susan Chen, Tom Hilditch, Kaashif Hymabaccus, Joe Wakeling and Nathan Wong all achieved four A*s.

Identical twins Nicholas and Daniel Thompson did their parents proud with five A*s and thre As between them. 

Mark Bishop, headmaster, said: "I would like to congratulate our students for all their hard work and also our staff for all the guidance and support that went into achieving these results."
