A man was left with a broken cheekbone after being hit with a bottle in an "unprovoked attack".

Surrey Police believe the victim, who is 19 and from Caterham, was assaulted by a group of men after he had been thrown out of a house party in Coulsdon Road, Caterham around 11pm, Saturday.

The victim was taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill to be treated for facial injuries, including a broken cheekbone.

Two men, both 18 and from Caterham and Redhill, were arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

Detective Con Tom Griffin said on Sunday police were still trying to work out the reason for the assault, although it appeared to be an "unprovoked attack".

He appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact Surrey Police.

The suspects are described as men, with one wearing a blue polo shirt and dark jeans at the time of attack, and the second man wearing a white vest.
