A man from Croydon has died after his car collided with crash barriers in Bedfordshire.

The driver, a man in his 30s, died on Saturday night after his blue X-Type Jaguar left the road and collided with crash barriers between junctions 12 and 11 at about 11.55pm.

A passenger in the car survived with slight injuries and was treated at Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

PC Martin Longley said: "I would appeal to anyone who saw the crash, or the vehicle prior to it, to call police."
