Jail for drug-rape of vulnerable woman

12:20pm Thursday 3rd May 2007

Two men who fed crack cocaine to a woman with mental health problems before raping her have been jailed.

Tony Cummings, 50, of Lodge Road, Croydon, was found guilty on four charges of rape and was jailed for eight years. Forty-one year-old Gary Cooper, of Davidson Road, Croydon, was convicted of having oral sex with her and given a minimum sentence of four-and-a-half years. Both denied the allegations.

Judge Tim Stow told the pair: "I am firmly of the view that you must have realised at a very early stage that this was a particularly vulnerable person."
