Police are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were stabbed in West Croydon.

Two boys, one thought to be as young as 13, were taken to hospital with knife wounds following a fight in London Road on Friday evening. 

No arrests have yet been made, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said this morning.

Witnesses described how Croydon had "become a warzone" during the violence shortly after 6.15pm.

Police and a paramedics were called to the town centre reports of a fight and found a teenager with stab injuries in Derby Road.

Another boy was found soon after with a "puncture wound", a police spokesman said.

Both teens were taken to hospital, where they remain in a stable condition. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers taped off the road between Derby Road and Sainsbury's following the fight.

One passer-by posted on Twitter: "So I come out of West Croydon Station and the road is blocked with police cars and ambulances."

Another wrote: "Croydon has become a warzone someone just got stabbed smh".
