Oldfield Teachers Have Their Say

April 30, 2001 9:52: Tory education secretary Theresa May visited Hamptons Oldfield House School during a special fact-finding tour on Wednesday.

Ms May met headteacher Anne Glennie and pupils at the boroughs only school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

Oldfield House is to lose its school status and become a unit for EBD children under radical plans by Richmond Council to increase its provision for secondary pupils with special educational needs.

Following her visit to the school, Ms May said she would raise the concerns highlighted by staff during a parliamentary debate on special educational needs on Thursday afternoon.
