Croydon companies scooped four awards at the first South London Business Awards ceremony at Crystal Palace Football Club on Monday night.
Hosted by Eagles fan and radio DJ David Jensen, the awards were sponsored by companies including the Croydon Guardian.
They were set up to recognise the dynamic business community in the south London area. Croydon businesswoman Mandie Kemp's Futures Supplies Ltd scooped three awards, including south London business of the year, a customer service award and small business of the year.
Other winners included Mansell Construction Services, whose head office is in Croydon. It took the award for excellence in training and development and the best new business award was handed to the Canbury Arms in Kingston.
Businessperson of the year went to Roger Southam, founder of Chainbow, and the marketing and innovation awards went to the London Marriott Hotel in Twickenham and Kirksaunders Associates Ltd respectively.
Chairman of the judges Phil Walker, from the Royal Bank of Scotland, said: "We hope the South London Business Awards go from strength to strength and will continue to be relevant to business leaders and entrepreneurs."
The awards were also sponsored by South London Business, Priory Public Relations, Thackray William Solicitors, the Royal Bank of Scotland, London Innovations Centre and the Crystal Palace Football Club.
