Croydon Harriers' men's and Women's teams were in both action on Saturday, having started the season with a win and a second place respectively.

The men travelled to the Thames Valley Athletics Centre in Eton and finished third out of five in their Division Two match.

George Thatcher was the pick of the performers, with wins in both the 400m and 800m with times of 50.4 seconds and 2:03.3, plus a second in the high jump and a thrilling anchor leg in the 4x400m, in which his sub 50-second run helped Croydon finish second.

The Croydon women travelled to Richmond for their Southern League Division Three match and also finished third out of five. The team covered nearly all the events and achieved eight A and B wins.
