A man wanted in connection with a domestic assault has gone on the run after being released from prison on licence.

Jimmy Tippett, 35, of West Molesey, was released from a custodial sentence in January but is now sought in connection with an assault in East Molesey in April.

Detective Inspector Mark Daughters, of the north Surrey public protection investigation unit, said: "We would like to speak to Jimmy Tippett in relation to this incident and we are appealing to members of the public to help us in our search.

"He is now also wanted on a recall to prison following this breach of his licence.

"He has indicated to us he may consider handing himself in and I would urge him to do so as soon as possible at the nearest police station."

Mr Tippett is 5ft 6in, of medium build and speaks with a southern accent.

Anyone who has seen Jimmy Tippett or knows of his whereabouts should call PC Clare Shute on 0845 125 2222 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
